Former House GOP Conference chair Liz Cheney, along with former Trump White House aides Alyssa Farah Griffin, Cassidy Hutchinson, and Sarah Matthews, are set to participate in a fireside chat in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on October 9. The event, organized by Democracy First, will take place in one of the crucial 'collar counties' outside Philadelphia, a key battleground in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
According to sources, the four women will present arguments against the reelection of Donald Trump, emphasizing the threat they believe he poses to democracy and the rule of law. They will stress the importance of independents, moderates, and Republicans uniting to prevent Trump from returning to office.
While Cheney, Hutchinson, and Matthews have endorsed Harris, Griffin has not officially done so. However, Griffin has consistently expressed concerns about the potential risks of a second Trump term through her various platforms.
This event is expected to be the first of several similar gatherings featuring these GOP women in battleground states. It is worth noting that this event is not an official function of the Harris-Walz campaign.
