Former Google leader joins Bot-Hive at its Bristol office

A Bristol-based flexible automation manufacturer appoints new external board member.

Bot-Hive, a global ecosystem which enables engineers to build flexible automation solutions for industry, which includes the extensive use of robots, has has welcomed Stephen Griffiths to the position.

As part of Breakthroo Limited, Mr Griffiths is an advisor to boards and executives of businesses that need to transform, or scale. He advises private equity funds, corporate venture funds and portfolio businesses. His experience is backed by 20-years of interim management, from start-ups to global brands and innovators such as Google, where he was head of digital and business transformation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr Griffiths has also advised the Avis Budget Group, Bupa, O2, NHS, Orange, Nokia, T-Mobile, BBC Worldwide and BT Vision. He is currently digital advisor and growth board member to Cardiff-based Admiral Pioneer and a start-up investor at Xoogler.co.

Mr Griffiths' appointment is key for Bristol-based Bot-Hive, which also has offices in Cardiff and Amsterdam. In his new role, Mr Griffiths will sit on the firm's board on behalf of its investor, the Development Bank of Wales VC fund.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Griffiths said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the Bot-Hive team. They have a strong vision and I hope to be a great help as they provide much-needed flexible automation solutions to industry. We are at that very exciting stage when dramatic change is on the horizon and Bot-Hive is a key driver of that.”

Bot-Hive co-founder and chief executive Jacques Bonfrer added: “We consider it a real coup that Stephen has joined our board. He has advised some of the globe’s largest brands and his help will be invaluable as we build our proposition at a time of great change and disruption.”

With over 80 different devices, Bot-Hive’s single interfacing platform enables customers to create multi-application robotics systems with fast tool changes, easy-end user configuration and centralised commands.
