Former GM Bob Myers Brought to Tears by Warriors Tribute Video in Chase Center Return

Bob Myers, the architect of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, returned to Chase Center on Wednesday for the first time since stepping down as general manager last summer.

Myers was broadcasting the Warriors’ matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks for ESPN, his new employer.

In the second quarter of the game, Golden State paid tribute to its former executive with a touching tribute video on the Jumbotron. After the video ended, his three daughters addressed the sellout crowd and introduced their dad.

Cameras panned to Myers, who was visibly emotional.

Myers was hired as the Warriors’ assistant general manager in 2011. One year later, he was promoted to general manager and occupied that role for the next 11 years.

Myers won two NBA Executive of the Year awards in that span, guiding Golden State to four championships in 2015, ‘17, ‘18 and ‘22.

Wednesday night was a fitting tribute to a Bay Area icon.
