Stefan Effenberg has fired a warning to Leeds United regarding Jesse Marsch after he struggled to impress during his time as RB Leipzig manager.
The new Whites boss was appointed at the Bundesliga side last summer but only lasted a matter of months before mutually parting ways with the club in December.
Marsch’s first game back in management will come almost three months after his last as he prepares to take Leeds to the East Midlands on Saturday.

Ahead of the early kick-off against Leicester, Effenberg has warned Leeds supporters of what they are getting with the 48-year-old.
Speaking to Sport Buzzer last month, the 35-time Germany international said: “The balance wasn’t right; we played forward come hell or high water without taking into account the strengths of our own personnel, the score, or the opponent’s style of play.
“Chasing the ball is a good tool, but not the only one a top team needs in a wide variety of demands and situations.
“In November, December, I thought this could go really badly for Leipzig, and there might be a sell-out of stars in the summer.”
Marsch’s time at Leipzig was the main thing that Leeds fans have questioned since the announcement was made by the club on Monday evening.
By the same stretch, his spell as head coach at their sister club Red Bull Salzburg should provide optimism given the success he enjoyed there.
Between now and the end of the season, he has the perfect opportunity to banish the judgements about his forgettable Leipzig tenure.
