Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver and kick returner Kearis Jackson signed a reserve/futures contract with the Houston Texans. Jackson spent the second half of the 2024 NFL season on the New York Giants’ practice squad, but did not see any action.
Jackson spent the 2023 NFL season with the Tennessee Titans. He returned six punts for 48 yards in two games. The Titans waived Jackson ahead of the 2024 season. He signed with the Giants in October.
Jackson will look to carve out a role with the Texans. The 6-foot, 200-pound receiver is primarily a special teams player at this point in his NFL career and is still looking to breakthrough to receive offensive snaps. He recorded 78 receptions for 1,107 receiving yards and four touchdowns over his five-season (2018-2022) career at the University of Georgia.
The Texans are coming off a loss in the NFL playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs. Jackson provides receiver and special teams depth for the Texans.
