A former Georgia Bulldogs football player has tragically died aged 34 with tributes pouring in.
Akeem Hebron had been a beloved teammate during his time at the prestigious school from 2008 through the 2010 season, where he played in 16 games for the Bulldogs.
The cause of his death is not yet known, as the school and fans have paid tribute to the young man. From their official Twitter page, the Georgia Bulldogs wrote: "Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a beloved member of the Bulldog family, Akeem Hebron.
"His dedication to Georgia Football will always be remembered. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time."
A high school star from Maryland, Hebron committed to playing for the Bulldogs in 2008 and was projected as a star linebacker.
However, his start to his college career was halted after he was suspended for the 2007 season, after being arrested twice in consecutive months for underage possession of alcohol.
He later profusely apologised and was allowed to return to the team the following year, when he registered 10 tackles, two tackles for losses and a sack.
Hebron graduated from Georgia in 2010, and his former coach stated how much his time with the school saw him develop into a "good man".
In 2010, Mark Richt told the Chattanooga Times Free Press : "A good thing happened to Georgia and to him. The greatest thing, I think, that's happened to him is that he's grown into a man. That's one of the biggest things that college is all about. He's a good man, and he's proved that, and I'm really proud of him."
Hebron is sadly not the only former Bulldog to have passed at a young age this year, after Devin Willock was killed in a car crash which involved Philadelphia Eagles first-round draft pick Jalen Carter.
Willock and Georgia staff member Chandler LeCroy were killed in the crash. They were travelling at high speeds when their vehicle struck two power poles and a tree. LeCroy, 21, had been driving the vehicle with Willock, 20, in the passengers seat.
