Former Georgia Bulldog defensive lineman released by Atlanta Falcons

Another former Bulldog was cut in the final round of roster cuts, as the Atlanta Falcons have parted ways with Zion Logue ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline.

Logue was selected in the sixth round (No. 197 overall) in the 2024 NFL draft by the Falcons and looked to potentially compete for a starting or bench nose tackle spot with his run-stuffing abilities. Unfortunately, he was unable to make the Falcons’ 53-man roster, as the Falcons are essentially full at nose tackle with David Onyemata and former Clemson Tiger Ruke Orhorhoro.

The Falcons recently signed Logue and former Georgia tight end John FitzPatrick to their practice squad, so Logue will continue to battle to be part of the active roster of Sundays.

The 6-foot-5, 314-pound defensive lineman was a mainstay on Georgia for five years, playing 50 games and starting 16 games and registering 52 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He was part of the back-to-back national championship squads. UGA fans shall see if he can catch on with the Falcons or another NFL team.
