Former Accies star Jose Quitongo is pulling on his football boots again, but this time it's to deliver free soccer sessions at Lanarkshire schools.
The 47-year-old, who had a successful career which included three stints at Hamilton as well as at Hearts, St Mirren and Benfica, is working in conjunction with Fives football pitches in Hamilton and will be touring schools to promote youth football, health and wellbeing among children and teens.
Jose, a personal trainer and coach, has already visited Holy Cross High School in Hamilton, where his community session went down a treat with the secondary pupils.
Next up, the Angolan native will visit the youngsters of St Pauls, Woodside and Udston primary schools to teach an array of football skills, as well as overall fun health and fitness for young pupils.
Jose told Lanarkshire Live: "I'm delighted to have teamed up with Fives Hamilton to take our fun and free football sessions out to schools across the town.
"We hope to then roll this out across the county and visit lots of other secondary and primary schools and generally promote football among children and show them it doesn't always need to be competitive and tough, it can be fun for fitness too."
Stewart Willis of Fives added: "We have worked closely with Jose for years and we love his dedication to the sport and how great he is teaching the children all things football.
"We can't wait to expand this venture and hope to visit as many schools as we can across Lanarkshire."
