Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi served as one of President Trump's defense lawyers in 2020 during his first impeachment trial. Bondi vehemently defended Trump, stating that he had not committed any crimes and emphasizing that the phone call transcript in question did not show any wrongdoing.
Aside from her legal work for Trump, Bondi also played a key role on Trump's Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission. In this capacity, she collaborated with national leaders to develop strategies for drug prevention and treatment.
Currently, Bondi is a partner at Ballard Partners, a prominent Florida-based lobbying firm founded by Brian Ballard. She chairs the firm's corporate regulatory practice, splitting her time between Florida and Washington, D.C.
During Trump's first term, Ballard Partners' D.C. office generated over $70 million in lobbying fees by representing various corporate clients, as reported in federal disclosures. Notably, Trump's incoming chief of staff, Susie Wiles, is also a partner at the firm, having joined after Trump's 2016 election victory.
