Former E4 Married at First Sight UK bride Amy Christophers reveals secret hen do and wedding night being 'like Hollyoaks'

Last year Married at First Sight viewers watched as Amy Christophers took the plunge and tied the know with a stranger. The 35-year-old was one of the brave singletons who put her trust in the E4 reality show's experts during last year's explosive series.

Amy, a former glamour model, was paired up with DJ and athlete Josh Christie and during the course of the experience, the couple faced a series of obstacles despite initially hitting it off. But things didn't last for the pair and just a couple of weeks before they were to appear on the reunion show together in October last year, Josh, 26, broke things off with Amy.

She told the experts at the time: "Something happened and that was it. 10 days isn't a lot, and I'm sorry if you can lose your feelings in 10 days, then were they even f**king real?" He explained that he no longer felt that they were "compatible" as a couple. But Amy said "I still have a lot of feelings."

Josh replied: "I have a heart obviously, but there comes a time when enough is enough and if you're not compatible with someone and you're not compatible." Amy later revealed in an interview that the pair hadn't spoken since the reunion.

And with the new series exploding back onto screens on Monday night (August 29), Amy, who works on Racing TV, has revealed that she had a secret hen do before saying 'I do' and revealed her wedding night was 'like Hollyoaks'.

"I had a secret Hen Do on zoom with my friends while I was in isolation," she told Johnny Seifert on his podcast Secure The Insecure. "And they like they sent me to the hotel like willy stuff and all of that. So yeah, properly went for it. And I genuinely felt like that was my hen party. I was so invested in this like, that's what I wanted.

"And I even woke up at 4am on my wedding day and changed a bit of my vows because I woke up like in like a sweat being like oh my god, the fact that this might actually be the love of my life and my life could change from this. This is it like petrifies me like why does it petrify me?"

Telling Johnny about her experience of marrying Josh on the show, Amy revealed: "I really thought that it was going to be more like a wedding than a show. It felt like I was filming Hollyoaks. I didn't even speak to Josh. I spoke to him like for two minutes, and we just kept getting dragged away to go and film other things and whatever.

"I remember they took me away and Josh after we just literally got married And then they were like, So what did you think about him? This, that and the other? And I was like, 'Oh, I don't know. I've, I mean, I've only said hello to him.' But you know what? I was like, 'No, I literally don't know. It was like, I don't even know how old he is' and all of that, and then they're like, 'Oh, he's 26.' I was like, 'Oh, my God.'

"And yeah, it was just, it was just weird. And then even at the end of the night, they take you back to the hotel in separate cars, because they don't want you getting to know each other too well, off camera. They want everything to be like organic, but obviously, it's just awkward."

But she did admit: "And then once we'd actually had like, a night on our own, like the wedding night, we were like, up all night chatting and whatever. It was just so much better."
