Rangers interim assistant coach Neil McCann will return to familiar surroundings this weekend as he heads back to Dens Park to take on Dundee, a club he managed between April 2017 and October 2018.
McCann, who also began and finished his senior playing career at Dens, is preparing for an important Scottish Premiership clash as Rangers look to continue their positive momentum following a thrilling 3-2 Old Firm derby win prior to the March international break.
Reflecting on his return to Tayside, McCann acknowledged the unique nature of the occasion.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Being manager of Dundee managing against Rangers was nice, I've played in the fixture loads of times, now going to Rangers and coming back to Dens as a coaching team will be kind of funny. I don't think it's something I would have expected.
"But I loved my time at Dundee. I started as a boy and finished as a man. Ended up going back there and managing the club for a short time and I really enjoyed that. And obviously when that ends you get a wee bit bitter and a wee bit angry. Then you self-reflect and realise it was a brilliant opportunity to cut your teeth in management. So, it's a great place to go back to."

Despite Dundee currently sitting second-bottom of the table, Tony Docherty’s side come into this match on the back of a crucial derby victory over city rivals Dundee United.
McCann is well aware of the threat his former side poses and expects a tough contest - especially since it ended a 1-1 draw when Rangers arrived in the City of Discovery on January 9.
"It will be very difficult. They got a great result against Dundee United and they will be really boosted by that win," he added.
"I know it's not been easy of late for Dundee but Tony Doc has done a brilliant job. We've got a rough idea [what to expect], we've done our homework and maybe the benefit of doing my previous job allowed me to spend a bit of time analysing teams, so we've got a fair idea on how they could go and how they played against Dundee United.
"All we can do is prepare our guys to go up to Dens and better the result they got last time - drawing up there 1-1. It will probably be viewed upon as a poor result. Dundee a good result for them, but we've got to get this team going up there and getting three points."
