Philly McMahon's wife Sarah Lacey has given birth to the couple's first child.
The couple shared the happy news of the arrival of their baby boy on social media on Friday, who they named Leannain, reports RSVP.
Taking to Instagram, eight-time All-Ireland winner McMahon revealed their newest addition saying: "Welcome to the world Baby Leannain (Lennon) Mc Mahon.
"Thank you @sarahlaceybindi for bringing this special little man into the world you are amazing.
"Thank you to all the Staff in Rotunda hospital for your unconditional care to both my Wife and Leannain."
He announced that he and his wife were expecting their first child together back in September 2021.
Posting a cute snap on his Instagram of the couple with their two dogs, Chows Chows named Hugo and Mello, he added a baby and a bottle emoji with the caption: "When four becomes five".
The married pair were visiting Philly's teammate Dean Rock's coffee shop that he co-owns with his fianceé and Dublin GAA star Niamh McEvoy.
Philly and Sarah celebrated their happy news with a coffee and scone.
He recently shared that their decision to start a family was one of the reasons he retired.
The footballer told Tommy Bowe and Muireann O’Connell on Ireland AM: “My wife Sarah is due a baby in two weeks in two weeks and that was the big decider for me.”
They previously tied the knot back in December 2019 in the SS Mary and Laurence Church, Crookstown, Athy. It was followed by an incredible reception party held in Kilkea Castle.
The beautiful bride wore a floor-length lace dress with a deep v-neckline. Her long brunette hair was in curls with a delicate veil falling down her back.
The groom wore a modern three-piece suit with a navy velvet jacket, black cropped trousers and a rounded waist vest. He also decided to go sockless in a pair of loafers.
