The impact Deion Sanders has made on the college football landscape, both during his time at Jackson State and with Colorado, is nothing short of spectacular. He’s flipped top recruits from the biggest schools in the country, sold out games in every stadium he’s been at with the Buffaloes, and essentially created a new brand while creating a new atmosphere around the programs.
Sanders has become a sell for college football fans — even opposing supporters who want to witness it firsthand. As former Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter explained, he believes the impact 'Coach Prime' has made in football from an advertising and marketing standpoint is comparable to Michael Jordan, which he told NBA insider Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson.
“I gotta say Michael Jordan. From the standpoint of greatness on the field to a whole new dimension of advertising yourself and getting all you can off the field as far as commercials, shoes and anything that you could possibly think of as far as maximizing themselves or their potential money-wise off the field," Carter told Robinson. "I would have to compare him to Michael Jordan.”

It's a fair take from Carter, as Sanders has not only maximized his upside from his playing days but flipped it into a coaching career in which he's taken an approach that brought many doubters and critics. But in turn, Sanders has been exceptionally successful from a marketing standpoint, and it appears to be a large part of the appeal and draw for recruits who want to play for him.
