Minnesota Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is making sure he’s surrounded by experienced minds that have sat in his seat before.
Per the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling, the team is hiring former Indianapolis Colts GM Ryan Grigson to the front office in a “senior personnel position.”
The connection here comes from the time the two spent together with the Cleveland Browns. Grigson worked alongside Adofo-Mensah, who was the vice president of football operations at the time, as a senior football advisor.
So his addition to the front office is huge for the Vikings.
The full structure of the #Vikings’ front office will be determined after the draft, but Grigson will work closely with new GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who’d been with Grigson in Cleveland.

Grigson already has an established working relationship with Adofo-Mensah, and he can help guide the young GM in his first rodeo. Free agency and the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft will be big moments for Adofo-Mensah.
It’s a tricky situation in Minnesota with the Vikings not needing a complete rebuild, but there are clearly moves that must be made to ensure they’re competitive next season.
Grigson can provide quality insight considering he’s already been there and done that in Indy.
