A former colleague of acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr., who knew him from their time serving together at the West Palm Beach Police Department in Florida, has praised Rowe as a highly intelligent and well-rounded individual.
West Palm Beach Assistant Police Chief Tony Spatara revealed that he first met Rowe at the police academy in 1995, which is now known as Palm Beach State College.
Spatara expressed his pride in Rowe's accomplishments, stating, 'Ron is a very intelligent person who is well rounded, has a multitude of experience.' After completing his training, Rowe joined the WPBPD's SWAT team and was later selected to participate in high-profile law enforcement task forces during the city's battle against a crack cocaine epidemic.
Recalling a specific incident, Spatara recounted how Rowe intervened during a security detail at St. Mary's Medical Center when a patient threatened a doctor with a gun. Rowe's quick actions prevented the situation from escalating further.
Spatara believes that Rowe is the ideal candidate to lead the Secret Service during a time of accountability and credibility challenges, particularly in the aftermath of the near-assassination of former President Trump. He stated, 'I think they made the correct decision in selecting him. I don’t know of a person in this country that’s more up to the task of taking on the challenge of what’s upcoming.'
