A former youth worker at a Perth church has been charged with abusing two male teenagers.

The 34-year-old Thornlie man was arrested on Friday and charged with more than a dozen offences alleged to have occurred between 2019 and 2021.

Police said the man met the teenagers through his youth engagement role at the church, in Perth's southern suburbs.

The incidents were reported his month.

The man appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with 16 offences including eight counts of indecently dealing with a child and four of procuring a child to do an indecent act.

He is due to face court again on April 14.
