Former Celtic fan has Rangers awakening with incredible switched loyalties confession - Hotline

The curtain has been raised on a new Premiership campaign and with it a Hotline full of conspiracy theories and complaints. Champions Celtic claimed the points against Aberdeen and Rangers won at Livingston but Hibs and St Johnstone were getting it in the neck.

Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: "For the integrity of the game VAR needs to come in now after yet another decision going against Rangers with their 'offside goal' chopped off against Livingston. However, VAR won’t stop the likes of Don Robertson soiling the bed and not sending off the Livi player for a clear second yellow card offence. It's strange given that he wasn’t shy in dishing out three first half yellow cards to Rangers players Week one and we have two game changing incidents which both go against Rangers."

Ian Renton, Johnstone, said: "What is the point of Rangers passing Livingston off the park in the first half, but not registering a single shot on target? I also want to know when referees are going to implement the six second rule for goalkeepers after they pick up the ball?"

Joe Graham, Garrowhill, said: "Going away to Livingston on a plastic pitch is not the best place to start your season campaign so coming home with maximum points is an achievement after going a goal down in the first few minutes. Rangers struggled to get the equaliser as they dominated the game. I'll settle for the outcome and maybe VAR could have made it easier."

Alan McGaw, Alloa, said: "It wasn’t easy watching Rangers struggle during the first half against Livingston but the game changed in the second half after subs came on. Malik Tillman is going to be a great asset for us but at the end of the day it’s only three points. We now move on now to Tuesday night in Belgium against Union Saint-Gilloise. I’m sure Gio van Bronckhorst will get the correct defensive combination sorted out."

Alan Flett, emailed: " Celtic fans just don’t get it. Have any of them ever wondered why Jota couldn’t get into a bang average Benfica team? He only came to Parkhead because he had nowhere else to go and it’s the same story with Cameron Carter Vickers. Celtic are a joke of a club and everyone wants to play them in Europe because it’s as good as getting a bye into the next round."

Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: "After many years of confusion and even supporting the other half of Glasgow and fleeting appearances at Pittodrie, I've now found myself in my support for Glasgow Rangers. I was born a Rangers supporter, it just took me many years to realise it."

George Fairgrieve , emailed: "I’m not impressed with this Hibs team and a scrappy goal won us the game against St Johnstone.

"We need a predatory penalty box striker and a tall centre-half. We had a shocking disciplinary record last season yet here, on the first day of the season, we could have and should have had two red cards. We need to get a grip."

Ian McDonald emailed: "Why did Robbie Neilson take the two goalscorers off against Ross County. Why not go for the third or fourth goal rather than just holding what we had? We will take the win but come on Robbie, have some faith in the team."

Kevin Law, Drylaw, said: I see a relegation battle is already underway after only one game in. Hibs and St Johnstone mustered just one shot each on target each. That kind of entertainment will have the fans flooding back."

Neil Gray emailed: "The issue for Scottish teams in Europe is that they are woefully under prepared for these games as they face teams who have a European football pedigree or are mid season.

"This is where the SPFL should help out and give them competitive games by starting them in the League Cup or starting the season earlier."

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: What an absolute disgrace to hear the Liverpool fans booing our national anthem in the Community Shield final. ITV Commentators could only say that perhaps Liverpool prefer their own songs. It's our National Anthem and you should hang your heads in shame."
