Former Cardinals great Adrian Wilson arrested on domestic violence charges

A former Arizona Cardinals legend is in legal trouble. Adrian Wilson, in the team’s Ring of Honor for his play as a safety and a former team executive, find himself out of a job and in trouble with the law.

As reported by ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, Wilson was arrested on June 1 on three counts of domestic violence.

He was recently fired by the Carolina Panthers as vice president of player personnel.

Per Weinfuss, Wilson “was charged with intentional assault causing physical injury, damaging property between $250 and $2,000, and disorderly conduct-disruptive behavior or fighting, according to police records.”

He found separation papers from his wife when he returned home. She had learned he was having an affair. He burst into her bedroom late at night attempted to choke her, broke a lamp and a television and then took a gun out of its safe and threatened to leave and kill himself.

He was arrested on the misdemeanor charges and posted bail.

He has a court date for July 16 for how to manage the case.

Wilson played for the Cardinals from 2001-2012 and was in the front office from 2015-2022, starting as a scout and rising to as high as interim general manager before going to the Panthers.
