The United States Football League, better known as the USFL 2.0, held their expansion draft a few weeks ago and a few former Ohio State Buckeyes were selected including fan favorites Johnnie Dixon and Mike Weber, but this week the USFL held a supplemental draft.
In the last draft, each round was broken down by positional group, but the supplemental draft was more of a standard best player available type draft, which is what I always prefer. We discussed the selection of Matthew Burrell to the Tampa Bay Banidts, but a few picks later, Marcus Baugh was selected by the Michigan Panthers with the fourth pick in the third round.
Baugh was a four-star recruit who was fairly productive in his final two seasons at Ohio State, with 52 receptions for 573 yards and seven touchdowns. He went undrafted and spent a brief time in the NFL with the Raiders before playing extremely well with the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football. Baugh had more stops with the Carolina Panthers, Washington Football Team, and Pittsburgh Steelers and should dominate in the USFL.

As more news becomes available with the USFL, and as play gets started, we’ll continue to keep an eye on these former Ohio State football players.
