Former Boston Celtics floor general Shane Larkin helped his Turkish National Team fend off a near upset by the Montenegrin National Team 72-68 in EuroBasket play on Thursday, the Miami Product equaling Montenegro’s Bojan Dubljevic for the tilt’s highest-scoring game at 18 points each.
The former Celtics point guard also put up 7 assists and 2 steals in 31:29 minutes of floor time, turning the ball over twice and fouling once. Larkin shot a sizzling 6-of-7 from the field overall, 5-of-6 from beyond the arc for the bulk of his scoring, and 1-of-2 from the free-throw line in the win for Turkey.
The EuroLeague star played for the Celtics before he headed overseas to find great success abroad, suiting up for Boston in the 2017-18 season.
