Some Emmerdale fans tend to forget former Blue Peter presenter Tim Vincent had a stint acting in the ITV soap.
Tim Vincent, 49, was a presenter of flagship BBC children’s programme Blue Peter before he joined Emmerdale. Between 2000 and 2001, Tim played Adam Forrester in the soap.
A major storyline involving Adam, saw him caught up in a love triangle with Marlon Dingle as they both tried to vie for Tricia Dingle’s affections. Sadly, Adam’s time in the village didn’t end well - he departed the soap after a horse suffered an adverse reaction to penicillin and subsequently he was sacked from his job.

Tim has revealed the reason his time on Emmerdale was relatively short was because he wanted to focus on TV presenting. "I feel confident that I can handle anything thrown at me as a presenter on live TV whereas when I'm acting I'm still asking myself what I'm doing right and wrong," Tim said, as referenced on Emmerdale Wiki.
“I've done my year on a soap and I'm happy with that.” Tim also said he found some of the filming days to be quite long and didn’t appreciate hanging around set with little to do as other scenes were filmed.
Tim said: “The days when you are just standing in the background can be slightly soul-destroying, especially when you are used to the kind of work where you are on the go every minute of the day. I just wanted to do more acting and when I was offered the part in Emmerdale I jumped at it.”
The star is quick to point out that his Emmerdale experience was an enjoyable one overall. Although, we doubt we’ll see him be one of the rumoured returning characters for the soap’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Tim concluded: “I enjoyed every minute of the time I've spent in Leeds filming the show.” Elsewhere in his career, Tim has hosted the Miss World contest and had radio shows on Capital FM and Magic FM.
He’s also appeared on ITV competition Dancing On Ice. You can visit our Emmerdale homepage to find the latest gossip about the soap.
