Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs will see his first season with the Houston Texans come to an early end following a huge injury in Week 8.
According to Texans Wire, Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans announced that Diggs suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts and will miss the remainder of the season.
The injury had been suspected after he went down and left the contest due to a non-contact knee injury.
Diggs, 30, appeared to be likely out for the Texans’ next contest prior to the season-ending update since they have a short week coming up. Houston travels to face the New York Jets (2-6) on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 9.
Unfortunately for the Texans, they are already without No. 1 receiver Nico Collins as well from when he injured his hamstring in Week 5 against the Bills. Collins is expected to return in two weeks.
Diggs spent four seasons in Buffalo from 2020-2023 and they were the best seasons of his career.
Amid an evident divide behind the scenes with the team in Buffalo, Diggs was traded to Houston this past offseason.
In addition to the update relating to Diggs because he’s a former Bills player… Buffalo and Houston will likely be battling it out for seeding once the AFC postseason race hates up later this season. The loss of Diggs will impact that.
