Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Trenton Irwin didn’t need long to find a new home after his release.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Irwin inked a deal with the Carolina Panthers to join their practice squad, with a quick activation to the 53-man roster planned.
Irwin was a mainstay over the last few years in Cincinnati. This one is notable for multiple reasons, though.
For one, Irwin had a pretty interesting comment about his release. And two, the Bengals opted to go another direction after recently putting in a waiver claim on Isaiah Williams.
Before Williams, names like Charlie Jones will still get the looks on special teams and as deep depth when healthy.
