TV presenter Dan Walker has said his "face is a mess" after being involved in a crash whilst riding his bike today (February 20). The journalist, 45, shared some selfies he had taken with paramedics whilst being transported in the back of an ambulance following the incident, his face covered in dried blood and bruises.
Despite his gruesome-looking injuries, Dan showed off his attempt of smiling as he updated his Twitter followers on the incident this morning. It appears that the former BBC Breakfast presenter was on his way to work, as he was wearing a white shirt and a smart navy jacket when the crash happened.
"Bit of an accident this morning," Dan wrote alongside the images on social media. "Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike."

Dan continued: "Face is a mess but I don't think anything is broken. Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene. "This is my smiling. Thankful for our NHS."
Fans and friends of Dan rushed to wish him well as he recovers from the injuries on the lower half of his face. It appears that blood ran from Dan's nose and mouth following the crash, and he is sporting a big bruise on one cheek.
Sports commentator Elliott Jacob Stockdale said: "Hope you're all good, Dan. Hell of a hit that!" "Oh wow !!!" wrote Strictly Come Dancing's Motsi Mabuse. "Get well soon."
ITV News presenter Sally Bidulph wrote: "So glad you are OK Dan, what a shock. Rest up and feel better soon."
Dan hosted his final BBC Breakfast programme in May 2022, telling viewers it had been "a real privilege" to front the morning programme for six years. He left the BBC to join Channel 5 as a presenter and news anchor.
