A historic bank building formerly operated by Bank of Ireland that has been vacant for over two years is set to reopen as a new retail store.
Located on the Lisburn Road, the listed building is broadly Neo-Georgian in style and was built in 1935 and designed by the Bank of Ireland's then-architect A.G.C. Millar.
In March of 2021, the bank announced a number of branch closures across Northern Ireland, including their three south Belfast locations - Lisburn Road, Ormeau Road and University Road.

Now the building is to be given a new lease of life as local homeware and furniture store Maven is set to transform the space into its new shop.
The store was founded by sisters Patricia and Catherine McGinnis and is currently located just down the road from the new site at the Reid Memorial Hall on Maryville Avenue.
The company took to social media to share the news of their new location and tease what is to come for customers at the former Bank of Ireland site.
A Facebook post read: "We can hardly believe that after almost 10 years, Maven is reaching the end of its time in the Reid Memorial Hall.
"We are working so hard behind the scenes on the new space and we cannot wait to share it with you very soon."
There are currently no details of when the store will open but work seems to have already began on the bank building.
