Former Arsenal star makes 'scary' Gunners claim amid Mikel Arteta's Premier League dominance

Arsenal were dominant against Tottenham in the North London Derby on Sunday evening. Mikel Arteta’s side came out comfortable 2-0 winners in what proved to be a first win for the red side of north London away to Spurs for the first time in nine years.

The victory means that the Gunners moved eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Manchester City dropped points against Manchester United on the same matchday which allowed Arsenal to extend their gap from second place.

The derby win for Arsenal has led to a lot of praise from the media. Former Arsenal great Bacary Sagna touched on the new improved team that Arteta has created.

Sagna touched on the importance of the win against Tottenham. Speaking to Findmycasino, he said: “It’s the best Arsenal I’ve seen I would say, since my side in 2007-2008...I think it’s a scary Arsenal now. They're dedicated and you know they won’t let it slip. As a team they are one.

“I was impressed by Odegaard yet again, they way he organises the game, the way he plays...Partay plays like he’s in his garden! Xhaka is so important in organising the game, defensively and always being in the right place at the right time. Zinchenko is technically one of the best left backs in Europe.”

Despite the high amount of plaudits that Arsenal received, it was not replicated by every media figure in the footballing world. Gary Neville still expresses doubts surrounding the Arsenal side and expects both Manchester clubs to finish ahead of the Gunners.

But, this is a notion that Sagna disagrees with. “That’s his opinion. He has his own point of view but there is a difference between his point of view and what I believe will become reality. This season Arsenal have been the best and most consistent team," the former Arsenal defender added.

“Manchester United and Manchester City have two important games coming up. I don’t see United finishing in front of Arsenal. They have improved but Arsenal are better and have been the best team all season - Pep will agree with that! He’s been saying they are difficult to catch and they will be.

"This weekend Arsenal have an important game and again they will have to show that they're strong but I’m not worried about that.”
