Former 5-star recruit, Georgia CB commits to Arizona State

Former Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Nyland Green has transferred to the Arizona State Sun Devils. Green, who played with the Purdue Boilermakers during the 2024 college football season, is a former five-star recruit.

Green played at Georgia from 2021-2023. He posted 13 tackles and two pass deflections during his time at UGA. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back posted career-best numbers for Purdue in 2024. Green accumulated 23 tackles, two sacks and five pass deflections for the Boilermakers. Purdue struggled mightily and finished the season 2-10.

Now, Green joins an Arizona State team that just won the Big 12 and advanced to the College Football Playoff. Green gives Arizona State more depth at cornerback as he seeks to make an impact in his final year of college eligibility.

Last offseason, Green was ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in the transfer portal, per 247Sports. However, things did not go as planned for Purdue, who allowed over 252 passing yards per game (No. 116 in the nation).
