Georgia Bulldogs center Clay Webb has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Webb, a former five-star recruit, has not seen a lot of playing time throughout his career. His pending transfer is a blow to Georgia’s depth chart along the offensive front.
Why is Clay Webb transferring? He has played in five career games for the Bulldogs dating back to 2019 and is unlikely to win the starting center job in 2022 over returning started Sedrick Van Pran.
Webb joins former five-star recruit Amarius Mims in the transfer portal and is looking for a new college football home. Webb played high school football for Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama. He could be considering returning home to Alabama to continue his college football career.
Webb is the third Georgia lineman to enter the transfer portal since Stacy Searles became the offensive line coach at Georgia. Searles inherited a very talented offensive line room, but most act fast to ensure that the Bulldogs don’t see a significant dip in talent at that position group.
