Trains coming in and out of Liverpool are at a standstill after an incident "on the platform" near Eccles.
National Rail released information on social media reporting there was disruption between Warrington Bank Quay, Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester via Patricroft at 7.46pm on Monday, May 29. The update explained emergency services are dealing with an incident on the line and all tracks are closed.
They warned trains would be cancelled or delayed until 9.30pm.

A tweet from National Rail read: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Warrington Bank Quay / Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester. To allow them to safely carry out their work, all lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled or delayed."
One person onboard described how his Transpennine train had just passed Eccles as he was heading towards Liverpool when the vehicle stopped. He said the train driver told him there was an incident "on the platform".
A video sent by the man, who wished to remain anonymous, shows police, a forensics officers and a National Rail employee investigating the outside the train.
