A person has been taken to hospital after a serious assault in County Durham.
A team of forensics in white overalls descended on a property in Newton Aycliffe on Sunday morning following a reported assault on Saturday evening.
An ambulance crew rushed one person to hospital last night while police set up a cordon at the address in Ashfield last night (November 26).

Officers remain at the scene today while the condition of the person taken to hospital remains unknown.
A spokesman for North East Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 5pm Saturday to attend a private address for a patient who had been allegedly assaulted.
“One paramedic crew attended and took one person to hospital.”
We are awaiting comment from Durham Constabulary.
