Forensic specialists investigate human remains found in woodland on residential street

Scenes of crime officers are continuing to examine the location where human remains were found more than a week after the gruesome discovery.

Human remains were uncovered in woodlands off Waverley Drive in Mumbles on Thursday, April 6, prompting a police investigation. At the time police said inquiries were ongoing at the location and that there was "no need for public concern".

Ten days after the discovery and the investigation is continuing, and on the afternoon of Sunday, April 16, a scenes of crime team of half a dozen officers could be heard digging in the woods above the residential street. It is not known how long the forensic team will remain at the scene. You can read more about the work of South Wales Police's forensic lab here.
