New video footage show forensics officers removing an object from a Nottingham street as part of an ongoing investigation into a major police incident in Nottingham. The footage, captured on Bentinck Road, shows officers draped in white removing a long, solid object from the scene.
A cordon was put into place in Bentinck Road in the Radford area of the city on Tuesday morning, June 13. Forensic officers were spotted working nearby and the footage shows an object being removed by those working at the scene. An eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous, praised the work of police who were called to Bentinck Road.
Nottinghamshire Police were called to Ilkeston Road shortly after 4am on Tuesday, June 13, where officers found two 19-year-olds dead in the street. Police were then called to another incident in Milton Street, in the city centre and near the main shopping area, where a van had attempted to run three people over, all of whom are currently receiving treatment in hospital. One man is in a critical condition.
A man in his 50s was then found dead in Magdala Road - all three had been stabbed, according to the force. There are multiple police cordons across the city centre while Nottinghamshire Police continue to carry out investigations.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The University of Nottingham has confirmed two of the three victims were students at the university and they passed on their condolences. The university said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we confirm the sudden and unexpected death of two of our students following a major incident in Nottinghan city centre overnight. We are shocked and devastated by the news and our thoughts are with those affected, their families and friends.
"We know this is likely to cause distress for staff and students in our community. Support is available through our support and wellbeing services for any of our community who may need it."
