Forensic cops lock down Dundee street amid major probe

Police in Dundee have locked down a street and launched a major probe.

Forensic officers have cordoned off houses in Whitfield Avenue on Monday afternoon.

It is unclear at this stage what has happened at the property.

Residents spoke to the local Courier newspaper.

One described a disturbance in the area late on Monday.

He said: “There was quite a commotion, then the police started arriving.

“They went into the house, then they closed off the street and they have been there ever since.”

While another resident told the paper: “There has been a huge police presence there all last night and all day.

“I have also seen police officers in white forensic suits.

“Something serious has definitely happened.”
