A driver was arrested after a cyclist suffered serious injuries in a suspected hit-and-run crash.
Merseyside Police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent following the incident in Kirkby at around 9.30pm on Sunday, May 23. Officers were called to Aldford Road near the junction of Rockford Avenue in Kirkby following reports a cyclist had been hit by a car.
It was reported the cyclist, a man in his 20s, had been hit by a black Ford Fiesta car. The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening at the time. He currently still remains in hospital.

Today Merseyside Police has confirmed a 25-year-old, from the Kirkby area, was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent following the incident. The man has been released under investigation in relation to the incident.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
