Football star Aaron Connolly 'begs ex Lucinda Strafford not to go on Love Island'

A 'cheating' Premier League footballer's former flame has reportedly signed up for Love Island – and he is said to be furious about it.

Brighton star Aaron Connolly, 21, dated stunning air hostess Lucinda Strafford for two years.

But a video emerged in March showing he breached Covid lockdown rules after it was claimed he romped with a woman at a house.

They split soon after and it and it has been suggested they are now talking again.

But since losing her job at British Airways, she has grown wings - and is set to fly into the villa.

The Ireland international is up in arms and has tried to change her mind about going on the ITV show, due to return at the end of the month.

But reports claim she is desperate to find fame and will jet off to Majorca next week regardless.

A source told The Sun : “They’ve seen each other, been at each other’s houses and had dinner, but over the last couple of days she has told a few people she’s going to be on Love Island and now Aaron knows and isn’t very happy.

"They have argued about her going in.

“She wants fame and money - she’s always wanted to be a celebrity. She’s trying to become an influencer, she wants to do it for her business.

Brighton star Aaron Connolly is said to be annoyed that she is still going (PA)

“Aaron’s really upset and really annoyed about it. They were together for two years and then broke up."

Love Island producers approached Lucinda before about going on, the publication claim.

She rejected the previous offer because she loved her job with BA.

But she was made redundant after Covid and says there's now nothing standing in her way.

She has recently given more clues that she is off - deleted snaps from St Lucia, Ibiza, Corfu, Mauritius and the Maldives from social media.

The Premier League footballer has not given up on convincing her not to go.

Fans of Love Island can't wait for the show's return in a matter of weeks after the 2020 series was cancelled for the first time in the show’s history due to the coronavirus pandemic.
