There is a lot at stake on conference championship Saturday, with some teams trying to cement their College Football Playoff candidacy while others aim to play spoiler.
No. 3 Washington began the weekend by defeating No. 5 Oregon in the last Pac-12 championship game, but there are eight more FBS conference championship games that should entertain fans throughout the day.
Here are all the details and TV tune-in information:
Big 12 championship
No. 7 Texas vs. No. 18 Oklahoma State
Time: Noon ET
Channel: ABC
Texas (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) will play its final Big 12 game before moving to the SEC next year, and it has a chance to solidify its résumé for the College Football Playoff against Oklahoma State (9-3, 7-2). The Longhorns likely need some help to earn a Playoff berth even with a win, but they can leave the Big 12 with their first conference championship since 2009.
MAC championship
Miami (Ohio) vs. Toledo
Time: Noon ET
Channel: ESPN
Toledo (11-1, 8-0) is going for back-to-back MAC titles after another strong season, but it has to go through a RedHawks team (10-2, 7-1) that has won four straight games. These two teams played earlier this year, a Rockets 21-17 victory in October, which was also the last time Miami lost.
Mountain West championship
UNLV vs. Boise State
Time: 3 p.m. ET
Channel: Fox
UNLV (9-3, 6-2) had its best regular season since 1998, which will result in the team playing in its first bowl game since 2013. First, the Rebels have to go through Boise State (7-5, 6-2), which has won this game three times since 2013 but is trying to erase the memory of a loss to Fresno State in last season’s conference championship.
SEC championship
No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 8 Alabama
Time: 4 p.m. ET
Channel: CBS
The most anticipated game of the day, two-time defending national champion Georgia (12-0, 9-0) will punch a ticket to the College Football Playoff with a victory, while Alabama (11-1, 8-0) needs a win to stay alive. These teams last played in the 2022 CFP national championship, a 33-18 Bulldogs win, but the Crimson Tide were the last team to beat Georgia, defeating them in the 2021 SEC championship.
AAC championship
No. 22 Tulane vs. SMU
Time: 4 p.m. ET
Channel: ABC
Tulane (11-1, 8-0) is 23-3 since the start of 2022 and is looking to win its second straight American Athletic Conference championship. With a win over the Mustangs (10-2, 8-0), the Green Wave would have a chance to play in New Year’s bowl game for the second straight season.
Sun Belt championship
Troy vs. Appalachian State
Time: 4 p.m. ET
Channel: ESPN
Troy is (10-2, 7-1) has won 24 of its past 28 games and could become back to back Sun Belt champions with a victory. On the other side, Appalachian State (8-4, 6-2) is only in this game because James Madison is ineligible, but the Mountaineers are two-time Sun Belt champions and last won this game in 2019.
Big Ten championship
No. 2 Michigan vs. No. 16 Iowa
Time: 8 p.m. ET
Channel: Fox
Michigan (12-0, 9-0) has a chance to win its third straight Big Ten championship with a win, which would almost certainly lock up a College Football Playoff spot. Iowa (10-2, 7-2) is a major underdog and could cause chaos with a win, but the Hawkeyes have played only one ranked team all season leading into this game.
ACC championship
No. 4 Florida State vs. No. 14 Louisville
Time: 8 p.m. ET
Channel: ABC
Florida State (12-0, 8-0) enters the game undefeated but with major uncertainty at quarterback, as Jordan Travis is out for the year and Tate Rodemaker is a game-time decision. The Seminoles probably need to beat Louisville (10-2, 7-1) to keep their Playoff chances alive.
