Football fans are all praying for a young boy's dream to come true after he was given just a year to live.
Six-year-old, Jayden Lamerton has been given just 12 months to live after his teachers noticed a worrying change to his eye. Jayden, who has "always supported Liverpool", was taken to the Royal Eye Infirmary in Plymouth in December last year, as "his eye had suddenly turned inwards".
Just weeks later, on January 5, he was sadly diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma [DIPG] and the prognosis is nine months to one year. His family are now creating memories they can cherish.

Jayden will be taking his first ever trip to Anfield this weekend and it would "literally be his dream come true" to walk out onto the pitch with his idols on Saturday, January 21. Since the ECHO shared Jayden's piece, hundreds of messages of support have come pouring in as football fans all say the same thing.
Rob Blake said: "Heartbreaking, let’s wish for a way of hope and his dream comes true. C'mon LFC this means more."
Shirley Foy wrote: "Such a brave little boy, we know that this will be set up for him and the entire team and manager will be proud to honour his wishes and more" Brenda Burke added: "What a beautiful boy, I hope he gets a miracle they do happen and I hope he gets to meet Mo.
Come on Liverpool grant his wish and I hope he can be saved, please god help him and other kids on the same situation."
EFC fan Ashleigh Skillen said: "From Everton big hugs we all have heroes and idols, cancer holds no colours." Martin McFadden added: "Beautiful and brave wee man, hoping he gets to meet Mo and walk out onto the hallowed turf."
His mum Chelsea Edmonds revealed the awful news the family were recently given and has left them broken hearted, yet determined to 'make his dreams come true and make this last short space of time bearable for all involved'.
And the young boy's dreams are being backed by football fans far and wide. Claire Harvey said: "I hope LFC Pull out all the stop for this gorgeous boy and his family. My heart is truly broken for all Jayden’s family Y.N.W.A Jayden."
Steve Cain added: "Make this happen Liverpool Fc / Mo Salah please", coupled with a praying emoji. The "beautiful, funny and cheeky" young football fan's family are doing everything they can to help his dreams come true and set up a fundraiser to help with costs.
The fundraiser reads: "On 21 December 2022 I had a phone call from his school, asking to collect Jayden as his eye had suddenly turned inwards. Jayden went to the Royal Eye Infirmary, where his eye sight was found to be fine. He was booked in for an MRI scan on Thursday 5th January. That is the day our lives changed. The MRI showed a 'lump' in his brain stem.
"We had an agonising week wait to be seen in Bristol hospital for a diagnosis and treatment options. Sadly, Jayden has been diagnosed with DIPG [Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma]. DIPG is a type of high grade brain tumour. High grade brain tumours tend to grow quickly and are more likely to spread to other parts of the brain or spinal cord.
"DIPGs originate in an area of the brain, and more specifically the brainstem, called the pons. The pons is an area deep within the lower part of the brain which is responsible for a number of critical bodily functions, such as breathing, sleeping and blood pressure.
"Then the Dr explained, this is incurable and gave a prognosis for Jayden to live for approximately nine to 12 months. Jayden will receive radiotherapy, starting in around two weeks time. This will be in Bristol every day for four to six weeks, to prolong his wellness and give him as much time as possible. As a family, we are beyond devastated, angry and heartbroken. You never think it will be you until it is.
"We are now asking for help financially. For help with travel, petrol and hotel costs. Also to support us financially whilst we will all be taking time off work to go to the treatment.
"But also, to help us create memories as a family. No family should experience this, there is so much we need and want to do, and we want to do as much as we can in our short time left. We want to make his dreams come true and make this last short space of time bearable for all involved, creating memories that will last forever."
