Football agents exam: Almost HALF of candidates fail new test in bid for transfer license

Almost half of the football agents who sat FIFA’s new exam last week failed.

Only 52 per cent of the 3,800 that took the exam in London on April 19 were successful and will be able to receive FIFA’s football agent license.

The license will allow agents to continue operating as representatives for transfers or contract renewals involving players, staff members or clubs.

New regulations for agents were approved by FIFA in Qatar last year.

As part of the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations, agents must now have a license to practice from October 1, meaning those that failed the exam can still operate throughout the summer transfer window.

Some candidates failed to show up for an hour-long test comprising 20 multiple-choice questions, while some did not follow clear instructions about bringing their own laptops.

The 48 per cent that did not achieve the required pass mark will have to resit on September 20. There are further tests scheduled for May and November next year.
