Football agent Mino Raiola confirmed dead: Man Utd star Paul Pogba's representative passes away

Football super agent Mino Raiola has died, it has been confirmed.

The news was announced in a family statement on his official Twitter account on Saturday afternoon. It comes just two days after Italian media reports claimed the 54-year-old had died, which was later denied on Raiola's Twitter feed. Raiola was football's most controversial agent in recent years, representing Paul Pogba, Erling Haaland and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

No cause of death has been announced.

A statement confirming on Twitter read: "In infinite sorrow we share the passing of the most caring and amazing football agent there ever was. Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realized it.

"Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed.

"Mino's mission of making football a better place for players will continue with the same passion. We thank everybody for the huge amount of support received during these difficult times and ask for respect to the privacy of family and friends in this moment of grief."

Reports from Italy earlier this week had claimed that Raiola had died however, the agent took to Twitter to deny the reports. He said in a tweet: "Current health status for the ones wondering: pissed off second time in 4 months they kill me.

"Seem also able to resuscitate."
