Yorkshire Puddings in your roast dinner is pretty much a must but trying to find space for them in the already crammed oven can be hard.
When trawling through TikTok I came across a recipe for the puds in an air fryer using, weirdly, the little glass pots Gu desserts come in. Having some of them lying around and my Cosori 4.7 litre air fryer, I decided I would give this a go.
Looking at the recipe, it seemed pretty straightforward to follow and it didn’t require that many ingredients, exactly like any Yorkshire Pudding batter, just milk, eggs, flour and a little bit of oil - all of which I had at home so no need to go out and buy anything. From start to finish I would say it takes around 20 minutes.

To start with, I poured some oil into the glass pots and popped them into the air fryer to heat up. Once that was done, I turned to making my batter. I followed the measurements set out in the TikTok I had seen so I used 115 g of flour, 1 egg and 210 ml of milk and this is supposed to fit in one glass ramekin.
The batter was so easy to make, I just put my flour in a bowl, then cracked the egg into the middle before slowly stirring it all together with the milk. While the recipe says that this serves one, there was a lot of batter that I found stretched to serve two. Once the oil was hot enough, I poured the batter into the glass ramekins and popped into the air fryer at 220 degrees for 15 minutes.
I actually found this to be a great way to get Yorkshire Puddings done in a small amount of time - it was a real game-changer. While they don’t get as crispy as the ones you cook in the oven and are more stodgy, they taste exactly the same. I think next time I would try maybe using a little less oil to see whether they crisp up a bit more but on the whole they taste and look as if they should be paired with a roast dinner.
