Food emporium committed to Welsh produce opens in Gwynedd town

A new food emporium committed to Welsh produce has opened in Gwynedd.

Y Groser Harlech is on the town's high street and close to the historic castle.

It opened on March 7 and stocks a wide range of Welsh goods and wines - offering itself as a "wholesome alternative to the supermarket".

They said it was supporting the Welsh economy and reducing air miles.

“We are immensely proud to provide customers with all of their shopping needs,” said owners Gary and Adrian Stevenson.

“Our aim is to serve our community and visitors while making shopping an interesting and friendly experience.”

The pair have lived in the area for a number of years and said they are passionate about service and quality ingredients.

They decided that the area needed a convenient community hub that made the most of the region’s foodie credentials.

The store's produce - displayed on wooden shelves and baskets - ranges from seasonal fruit and vegetables to freshly baked breads and pastries as well as traditional deli goods.

“Food and cooking are our passion, as is great customer service,” said Adrian.

An ordering and delivery service will be also be available as well as speciality hampers.

“We recognised that the area was in need of a great general grocery store and decided to do something about it,” said Adrian.

“We are very excited about sharing Y Groser with the town,

We’re confident of its success. After all, food, service, hospitality, and retail is bound in our DNA.”
