Floyd Mayweather training "like he's in his 20s" ahead of Money Kicks exhibition

Floyd Mayweather's sparring partner has claimed the retired star still possesses more speed than his protege Gervonta Davis ahead of a boxing debut.

The American star fought Logan Paul last year in an exhibition match which went the full distance while generating him least $65million.

He is now set to face YouTube star Money Kicks in an exhibition which is set to take place on a helipad at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel in Dubai on February 20.

And a sparring partner of Mayweather, J'Hon Ingram, explained that he had to throw combinations to land on Mayweather in one of the best "experiences" of his boxing career.

"It is faster than Tank's I can tell you that right now," Ingram told Fight Hype. "Tank's is fast but still not as fast as Floyd.

"On their jab they might be equal but Floyd switches his jab up so much so Tank is still not as fast as Floyd. I did land on him, I had to throw combinations to land I couldn't throw any single punches, honestly like four or five.

"His gameplan and his knowledge in the game is unbelievable, he was throwing things I have never seen before. His defence is amazing so I had to throw big punches to actually hit him.

"He definitely still lives up to his name. I was thinking because he is a little older now that I would be able to push him. But he still moves like he is 20. He punches like he is still in his 20's. His awareness and reactions are still like he is in his 20's.

"Even if he took a real fight right now I don't see anybody beating him, if you look at a lot of great fighters after they retired it's a lot different to Floyd. He is still training and keeping his boxing IQ up."

Mayweather retired as one of the sport's most dominant figures ending with a record of 50-0 during his illustrious career.

His opponent for February Rashad Belhasa, a social media star from Dubai, fought previously under social media boxing promotion Social Knockout recording two victories in his short fighting career.

This is the third exhibition Mayweather has fought in and he is likely to continue to fight a couple of times a year according to his coach Gerald Tucker.

“I think he’s going to fight a couple of times every year," Tucker told The Sun in an interview from training camp.

“It’s great money and there’s people like me, huge fans of Floyd’s style that want to see him in the ring just displaying his skills, that are unmatched in the history of the sport.

“I think he’ll do that just for people like me. But, I’m also optimistic we may see Floyd fight one day."
