Floyd Mayweather promoter loses his cool with Eddie Hearn after fight offer

Mayweather Promotions boss Leonard Ellerbe has told fellow promoter Eddie Hearn to stop playing games after offering to fight him.

Hearn has teased the idea of stepping in the ring against Ellerbe after the pair have gone back-and-forth in the media over the past year. The Matchroom Boxing boss constantly mocks Ellerbe over his repeated threats towards him, with the American threatening to " stomp " Hearn out of the US boxing market.

Ellerbe claims Hearn doesn't know what he is doing and wants to be bigger than his fighters, but the British promoter has no idea where his rival's disdain for him has come from. Ellerbe is seemingly at breaking point with Hearn and fired back at his fight offer on Twitter.

“Look bi*** stop playing with me. I’m not going to play these kid games with you, it’s fun and games to you until s*** get real," Ellerbe wrote to Hearn. The British promoter, who admitted he has been training for a "big opportunity", recently opened up as a massive favourite in a potential fight against Ellerbe.

"Everyone sent me [those odds], 1/3? I wonder what Leonard Ellerbe weighs at the moment, because I'm nearly 16 stone now. I've [lost] like two and a half stone. I'm training for this opportunity, not for that opportunity with Leonard but for this big opportunity that will probably present itself soon," Hearn told iFL TV.

" Jake Paul, Leonard Ellerbe whoever it is. There is a price, $10million that's the price. I guess Jake Paul is the bigger fight, maybe $20 million for the Jake Paul fight. [Mike] Coppinger messaged me last night and said 'that does over a million buys in the UK, why don't you do it for charity?'

"I said 'we'll do a little bit for charity, I want to get paid as well because I'll probably get knocked out'. So $10 million is my number, if you think about the split in terms of popularity and success Ellerbe should get $500,000, I get $10 million, easy fight to make."

Hearn has been told he blew his $1billion budget with DAZN by Ellerbe after "misgauging" the US market. Ellerbe's frustration with Hearn has also been intensified after the British promoter showed his interest in signing Mayweather Promotions protege Gervonta Davis, who recently decided to leave the US promotion.
