A Florida woman allegedly attempting to buy fentanyl inadvertently texted a narcotics investigator instead of her dealer, leading to her arrest on multiple charges.

On December 31, 2023, 41-year-old Octavia Wells of Panama City tried to arrange a drug purchase before leaving town, according to the Boy County Sheriff's Office.

However, instead of contacting her intended dealer, she mistakenly messaged a narcotics investigator.

The investigator immediately began communicating with Octavia in an undercover capacity, setting up the "sale" to her.

Wells agreed to meet the supposed dealer at a local gas station. She was met by members of the Bay County Sheriff's Special Investigations Division.

Officers promptly arrested her and charged her with unlawful use of a two-way communication device, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

The arrest was reported on the sheriff's office's Facebook page.

One woman commented, "I hope she gets the help she needs...Fet is deadly."
