A tragic incident unfolded in Tampa, Florida, as a 36-year-old woman, Arayiah Hudson, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder while engaged in aggravated child abuse. The arrest came after the death of her 4-year-old son, Joseph, who was found unresponsive at their home in the 8400 block of N. 15th Street.

Police responded to a 911 call made by Hudson, reporting her son's condition. Despite efforts to revive him, Joseph was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Subsequent investigations revealed a disturbing history of child abuse, with Joseph's body showing signs of multiple injuries, including bruises, abrasions, and internal bleeding.

An autopsy confirmed that the cause of Joseph's death was blunt force trauma to the head and torso. Shockingly, it was discovered that Hudson had attempted to conceal the abuse by using makeup to cover bruises around the child's eyes, claiming it was a form of discipline.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw condemned the crime, emphasizing every child's right to safety, especially within their own home. The department is dedicated to seeking justice for Joseph and ensuring the protection of all children in the community.

Following her arrest, Hudson was booked into the Orient Road Jail, while other children in her care were removed from the home and placed with their biological fathers. These fathers did not reside with Hudson, as confirmed by the police.
