A Florida man is facing serious charges after allegedly breaking into a woman's home in Tice, Florida, and stabbing her while she was sleeping. The incident occurred on New York Drive, where Bonnier Jose Sarmiento Lanza, 33, reportedly entered the residence and attacked the woman with multiple stab wounds. He also assaulted another individual present in the home before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the distress call, Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies swiftly responded to the situation. They provided medical assistance to the injured woman, who sustained multiple wounds during the attack. Meanwhile, the sheriff's office deployed its drone unit to aid in locating the fleeing suspect.
Drone footage captured Lanza walking through a nearby neighborhood as deputies coordinated to track him down and successfully detain him. The woman, who is now in stable condition, was known to have a prior relationship with Lanza, according to the sheriff's office. Lanza has been charged with two counts of burglary with battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident.
