Florida Hospitals And Nursing Homes Prepare For Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Nicole takes aim at Florida's Atlantic coast

Hospitals and nursing homes in Florida are preparing for the impact of Hurricane Milton, as advised by officials from the Florida Division of Emergency Management. The Director, Kevin Guthrie, has reported that the storm is expected to hit the state this week.

Currently, there are 500–600 ambulances actively evacuating medical facilities in the greater Tampa Bay region. Guthrie mentioned that numerous hospital facilities are also in the process of evacuation. He noted that this evacuation effort is significant, stating that it is the largest he has seen since he assumed his role in 2018 during Hurricane Michael.
