CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Florida's major-college football teams experienced a weekend of disappointment as none of the state's FBS and FCS teams secured a victory in the nine games played. This marked only the second time in history, the other being in October 2020, that all seven FBS programs in the state - Miami, Florida, Florida State, UCF, South Florida, Florida Atlantic, and Florida International - collectively went 0-5 on the same day.

The weekend saw Miami's unbeaten streak come to an end with a 28-23 loss to Georgia Tech, Florida State's crushing 52-3 defeat against Notre Dame, Florida's loss to Texas by a score of 49-17, South Florida's 28-7 loss to Navy, and UCF's 35-31 loss to Arizona State.

Florida State coach expressed disappointment over his team's performance, emphasizing the challenging year they have faced. The Seminoles, who were preseason favorites in the Atlantic Coast Conference, are now at a 1-9 record, far from their anticipated success.

Despite the overall dismal performance, Miami stands out with a 9-1 record, the best among the Florida teams. The Hurricanes remain in contention for the ACC title game despite their recent loss. In contrast, no other FBS team in the state currently holds a winning record.

With South Florida and Florida at 4-5, UCF at 4-6, Florida International at 3-6, Florida Atlantic at 2-7, and Florida State at 1-9, the state's football landscape is facing a challenging season. Miami coach Cristobal remains optimistic about the team's future prospects, highlighting the opportunity to compete for significant titles.

The combined record of Florida's FBS teams this season stands at 27-39, reflecting a winning percentage of .409. This season is on track to be one of the worst in the state's history of having seven FBS programs.

Saturday's outcomes further compounded the state's woes as it witnessed rare losses from the traditional powerhouses - Miami, Florida State, and Florida - alongside UCF and USF. The inclusion of the state's three FCS teams resulted in a record of 0-8 on Saturday, the worst single-day performance in the state's history.

Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman, and Stetson all suffered defeats, contributing to the overall disappointing weekend for Florida football. The weekend's record extended to 0-9 with Florida Atlantic's loss to East Carolina on Thursday.

Amidst the losses, FIU was the only team that did not play over the weekend, escaping defeat. The state's football programs are now looking to regroup and improve as they navigate the remainder of the season.
