On Friday, the Seminole County Fire Department swiftly responded to a hazmat call at the Seminole County Public Library, which is currently serving as an early voting location. The call was made due to reports of an odor near the ballot box at the library located at 215 North Oxford Road.

Upon arrival, fire officials conducted a thorough investigation of the library premises but found no evidence of any chemical substances or hazards. Despite the lack of hazardous materials, as a precautionary measure, 14 workers at the library were evaluated by medical personnel.

One poll worker, however, was transported to the hospital for hypertension. The exact cause of the odor that prompted the hazmat call remains unknown at this time.
