Eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt can add another accomplishment to his résumé after a bronze statue of him was unveiled in Miramar, Fla.
The Jamaican superstar was honored Saturday by the city, which has one of the biggest Jamaican populations outside of the island itself. Jamaica native Basil Barrington Watson created the statue, which shows Bolt’s iconic victory pose.
Watson also added a notable Bolt quote to the artwork: “Anything is possible. Don’t think limits.”
Bolt explained the meaning behind the quote while attending the statue’s unveiling Saturday.
“When I started running, especially when I got to start being coached by Glen Mills, it kind of opened my eyes … it was then I started making bigger goals,” Bolt said, via the Miami Herald. “And this is how my motto actually came about. Anything’s possible. Don’t think of it. Because you always limit yourself at times. I never thought I would get to this level. … So, I’ve always told people to believe in yourself. Never let anybody tell you you can’t do this.”

Along with the festivities, Bolt also received a key to Miramar, and the city dedicated July 14 as Usain Bolt Day.
Bolt last competed in the Olympics in 2016 at Rio de Janeiro, where he won three gold medals, bringing his career total to eight. He also has won 11 world championships gold medals. The 36-year-old retired from competition in 2017 after that year’s world championships.
